Excellent food and service, can highly recommend the risotto! Atmosphere is also nice and in summer you can enjoy the nice terrace outside. Highly recommended we will come back if we have the chance.

We were thoroughly impressed with this establishment from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, compelling us to leave a glowing 5-star review. Right from the start, the exceptionally well-manicured grounds and the charming outdoor terrace caught our attention, although we opted for the traditional yet stylish indoor seating area. This space brilliantly mixed timeless local design with modern art, creating a visually appealing setting. The food, however, was the undeniable highlight. We enjoyed what was perhaps the best Ticinese cuisine we have ever experienced in a local restaurant. Each dish was a revelation in high culinary art, particularly surprising given the relatively remote location of the establishment. The salad presentation right from the start set a high standard. The appetizers that followed were equally impressive: potato croquettes and a goat cheese mousse with eggplant that were simply delightful. The eggplant, in particular, deserves special mention for its skillful preparation. The presentation was immaculate, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors that was a joy to the palate. Additionally, the asparagus served with potato-parmesan foam was a standout. This dish impressed us with its lightness and the superb enhancement provided by the perfectly cooked egg, making each bite a memorable event. The main course too was further elevating the experience: The beetroot risotto stood out with its perfect consistency and flavor, enhanced further by a delightful cheese foam. This dish's taste was beautifully balanced, ensuring the beetroot's presence was enriching but not overwhelming. The vegetable lasagna was a showstopper, undoubtedly one of the best we have ever tasted. The mixture of vegetables and the flawless execution of the zucchini, carrots, and leek was simply marvelous. This dish alone would have secured a 5-star rating, but the complimentary limoncello provided by the waiter added a perfect finishing touch to our meal, elevating our entire dining experience even further. In summary, Grotto Valmaggese is an outstanding establishment that deserves every bit of praise for its exceptional food and service. A true gem, and highly recommended!

I was blown away about the service and the food. Very professional and very kind even if I wasn't dressed up like fancy clothes. We had a very lovely evening with very lovely food. I do love the offer of very local food and wine. I grown up in valle maggia and knowing there are local products sold in the restaurant it makes me proud.

Pretty nice place, a Ticino typical grotto, the right place to try some local vines, the service is accurate, reservation is preferred in order to have the best places. You may choose meet or fish, both are well prepared, but at lest one time in your live you have to try "polenta and brasato" this are really fantastic

A very cosy place to. have a bite during the trip around Maggia. Though unfortunately the kitchen was closed from 2 PM the short menu was quite nice. One of the most delicious Risotto con funghi (local) I tasted. And very friendly people.

Wow, amazing food, amazing food, quite pricey but worth it. Consider the daily menu. Lucky to spot it as we were cycling past and almost didn’t stop.

Lovely service. The beef tartare was excellent, and the homemade pastas were delicious. Starters and salads were good, though not particularly memorable. The homemade ice creams were a nice touch. Cozy atmosphere with charming stone tables.
